Building Cultures in the SWIS Mentoring Groups/Tutor Groups (Vertical 7- 12) –3 period per week –Learning Goals/ILP –Independent thinkers –Senior students in tutor groups modelling learning behaviours –Building Resilience –Building Relationships to teachers, students and family –Monitoring Student progress (report, welfare, homework, behaviour) –Organisational Skills –Responsibilities: Building Garden/Environment/Wat er Displays Publications, newsletters Developing partnerships with parents Social activities (theme day) Community Projects –Common Theme the SWIS will be supporting »Jump Rope for Heart

Building Cultures in the SWIS House Activities - –One period per week –Practise time –Organising activities for SWIS such as: Competitions: –Drama –Sport –Music –Debating Presentations/Celebrations/Excellence Awards Guest Speakers

Building Cultures in the SWIS Year Level Based Activities –One period per week –Programs specific to year level across SWIS You Can Do It Program –Organising Camps/In-house Events –All Year 7 Across all SWIS (1-2 period per term)

What are the learning skills ? (Personal and Interpersonal Learning) Planning Organising Manage a team Communication/Reporting Budgets Public Speaking Accepting Responsibility Evaluation Connecting with the Community

How Ideally 5 x 32min period per week –Would be optimum 4 x 72 per fortnight –Periods would be shared between Vertical Mentoring / House Activities/ Year Level Based
