4 What is a Residency? A clinical residency is a planned program of postprofessional clinical and didactic education for physical therapists that is designed to significantly advance the physical therapist resident's preparation as a provider of patient care services in a defined area of clinical practice. 6 APTA credentialing University of Indianapolis/Body One Physical Therapy is credentialed by the American Physical Therapy Association as a postprofessional residency program for physical therapists in Orthopaedics We have received accreditation by the ABPTRFE on July 31, 2013 Accreditation is for 5 years

7 Residency Formats Clinical Residency (9 Credit hours)
3 Post professional classes at UIndy compliment weekly learning in the clinic Differential Diagnosis (Ross and Pease) Medical Screening (Boissonault) Teaching Practicum (Independent study) GA work in the entry-level DPT program will yield tuition remission

8 Why our Residency? Done in person, not as a distance format
Includes teaching/graduate assistant component GA in musculoskeletal sequence at UIndy Exposure to direct classroom teaching Experience and training as a clinical mentor for entry level interns Expert faculty to which you consistently have access Credits towards a post professional degree Includes interdisciplinary learning with physicians Ongoing collection and analysis of clinical outcomes data

14 Resident’s compensation
The resident will receive salary for patient care from Body One equal to 70-75% of a new grad (~$40,000) .8 FTE in clinic (Practice/Mentoring/Didactic/Interdisciplinary time) Insurance benefits provided by Body One Graduate assistantship at UIndy will cover at least 9 credits earned Can apply for loan deferment
