6 Kohlberg–Moral Development Conventional Morality (Group Centered) Acceptance of rules and standards of ones group Stage 3 – Good Boy/Nice Girl – Conformity – meet the expectations of group Who Counts – US but not Them

7 Kohlberg–Moral Development Conventional Morality (Group Centered) Stage 4 – Law and Order – Rules – respect for rules, laws, and properly constituted authority Who Counts – I, We, Them – the Common Good

8 Kohlberg–Moral Development Postconventional Morality (Truth Centered) Stage 5 – Social Contract – Conviction – logical application of universal, abstract moral principles Stage 6 – Universal Ethical Principles – Love – acts out of universal ethical principles based on the equality and worth of all human beings Who Counts – I and You and You – World Community
