The facts Paul can’t be there to greet them, so he writes to some to greet the rest Each greeting must be 1 warm, 2 holy Problems in church (5:14-15): do not shun brother as an opponent “Unlovable”? Jn.15:13-15…17

Why such a solemn command? 1. This is not “just a letter”; Ac.13:27 2. Word is only way to solve problems in churches and Christians 3. Every Christian grows in this way

All Brothers 1. This first epistle establishes the prac- tice for all future letters. Col.4:16. 2. Some misquoted him (2 Th.2:2); this will set record straight 3. Disorderly may avoid his correction 4. Future heresy would w/hold Scripture from ‘all brothers’ (e.g.: Rome)
