Of Roma 3) Specialising in: Physical, numerical and analytical modelling of water waves and maritime structures Funded research projects on Tsunamis since 1998: (Total founds 600 k€): 3 from Italian Dam Office, 1 from Italian Civil Protection, 1 from Italian Ministry of Research. In-house capacity: 4 Professors, 6 Researchers (Phd), 3 PhD students and 2 Technicians, 1 Lab for physical modelling TEWS Info Day, 31 Jan 2006, Paris

2 Potential Interest/Contribution to TEWS Physical modelling of Tsunamis generation, propagation and interactions with coasts (run- up); Three-dimensional numerical simulation of tsunamis generation (near field) Computationally efficient far-field simulation of tsunamis propagation on large areas CONTRIBUTION TO TEWS  We potentially are able to: develop, implement and verify also by comparison with physical models, a software-based real-time Decision Support System for tsunamis early warning, based on sea level measurements and real-time numerical simulation of waves propagation.
