Become Hot Spot Healthy
3
Why become Hot Spot Healthy? Have you lost a friend or a loved one to a chronic disease such as heart attack, stroke or cancer? Do you suffer from chronic disease or are you worried about getting a chronic disease? Would you like to avoid getting chronic disease, feel better today, lose weight without dieting, and stay younger for longer?
4
One in three Americans will die from cardiovascular disease and one in three will get cancer. One in three American adults is obese and one in five youths is obese. 40 million have metabolic syndrome. In 2005, 133 million Americans, which is almost one in two adults, had at least one chronic illness. There is an epidemic of depression. 7 out of 10 deaths are from chronic diseases. Some experts believe that the new generation will be the first in history to have a SHORTER life span than their parents The epidemic of chronic disease
5
What are the reasons for this epidemic? It is not because of luck. It has very little to do with genes. It is not because we are living longer and have more time to get chronic diseases. It is NOT something which we can’t control. It is all to do with what we are eating and doing. This means we have the power to prevent millions of unnecessary early deaths, including our own!

They get plenty of exercise and fresh air They have a sense of belonging to the community and having a loving family and friends They keep busy and have purpose in life They have a strong spiritual faith (why might this cause good health?) Why are They so Healthy in the Hot Spots?
19
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention: More than a third of all adults do not get enough physical activity, and many people get almost none at all. Less than a quarter of the population eats the basic minimum of five servings of fruit and vegetables a day. According to the British Journal of Cancer, nearly half of cancers are caused by life choices including smoking, drinking and eating the wrong things. Tobacco is at the top of the list, followed by lack of fruit and vegetables, and being overweight. Why do we have so much chronic disease?
