7 About the Academy… Our Mission – The mission of the Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice is to promote life-long learning. Our Goal – To provide a certification program to funeral service practitioners that is: affordable attainable accessible meaningful

11 Step 1: Join Fill out the membership application Submit application fee or a Lifetime fee You will receive a welcome email with your log in credentials so you can begin immediately Then you’ll receive a new member welcome kit with step by step instructions and everything you need to begin your journey

14 Step 2: Career Review Credit for … Experience between licensure and joining the Academy including: Seminars, conventions, and articles Membership and committee work Training of others (interns and staff) Contributions to community Degree work before licensure Credits are awarded once in this category 5.4 CEUs

20 What counts… … In Category D? In-service training programs Community activities and leadership Service club membership and leadership High school career days Job shadowing programs Funeral home tours Remembrance programs Hospice and clergy outreach 1.8 CEUs

22 And then… … you are a CFSP! CFSPs may use the designation on: Business letterhead Business cards Web sites and other publications 18 CEUs

23 And to continue to use the CFSP designation… CFSPs must annually: Pay their renewal unless they are a Lifetime member Earn 2 CEUs (20 hours) per year Excess CEUs are carried forward to the next year’s transcript 2 CEUs

24 Pay your renewal Report your activity Monitor your progress toward certification Review your transcript Download forms, logos, scripts and press releases Get a list of approved continuing education by Type of Course State offered in Provider Tools for you…apfsp.org
