Times of Noah:
Evil continually (6:5).
Sons of God took the daughters of men (6:2).
Wickedness on earth was great (6:5).

God saw the evil (6:5).
All seeing eye.
Never ignorant.
Knew the heart and intent.
Could not go unpunished!
Gen 6:3; “Then the LORD said, " My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, because he also is flesh; nevertheless his days shall be one hundred and twenty years.“
Gen 6:7; “The LORD said, " I will blot out man whom I have created from the face of the land, from man to animals to creeping things and to birds of the sky; for I am sorry that I have made them."

6. He Was Grieved In His Heart Genesis 6:6
God also saw the good (6:8).
God not only sees the evil people and their deeds but also the good people and their deeds.
Admonition to all that we cannot escape the all-seeing eyes of the Lord (Revelation 1:14).

7. Noah’s Destruction Is A Foreshadow
2 Peter 3:5-7; “For when they maintain this, it escapes their notice that by the word of God the heavens existed long ago and the earth was formed out of water and by water, 6 through which the world at that time was destroyed, being flooded with water. 7 But by His word the present heavens and earth are being reserved for fire, kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.”

Destroyed by water.
Noah was a preacher of righteousness.
Preached to the people with the Spirit of Jesus (1 Peter 3:18-19).
People refused to obey and were destroyed because of their wickedness.
Reserved by God’s word.
Word that we preach (gospel truth) will judge people to heaven or hell.
1 Peter 3:3-9.
BUT IT IS NOT OUR FAULT!

God sent the flood (2 Peter 2:5).
Noah did not call upon the Lord.
Noah did not desire the flood.
Noah did not punish the people.
Noah lived righteously, his life and conduct were different than the norm (Genesis 6:5-8)
Noah’s faith condemned the world (Hebrews 11:7).
But the sins of mankind caused God to react with the flood (John 3:19-21).

At time of your death your fate shall be sealed as well.
Matthew 7:21.
Hebrews 9:27.
2 Corinthians 6:2.
Today is the day of salvation.
On THAT day God will react to our sin!
Luke 16:19-31.
God will execute His judgment in THAT day, the door to the church and heaven will be shut.

Grade On A Curve?
Noah preached for 100 years (2 Peter 2:5; Genesis 32; 7:5-6; 2 Timothy 4:2-5).
The message he preached was the same, it did not change to please men or to allow more to be saved.
Our message today should not be changed today in order to suit ourselves or others.
“Let’s not be too direct.”
“You don’t need to preach on that, you might offend people.”
Preach the word is a command that teaches to preach as received from the Holy Spirit.

Luke 17:26-27; “And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. 27 They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.”

20. The Door Shut By God, Those Outside Died
Matt 24:37-40; “For as the days of Noah were, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. 38 For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day Noah entered the ark, 39 and they knew nothing until the flood came and swept them all away, so too will be the coming of the Son of Man.” NRSV

21. The Door Shut By God, Those Outside Died
All those outside the ark died.
Men, women and children.
Animals, etc. (Genesis 7:17-24).
He showed no partiality (Romans 2:1-11).
The ark is a foreshadow of the church, note that those outside were destroyed, in the final day, those outside the church (body0 of Christ will be lost (Matthew 25:6-13).

All those inside the ark lived.
