Angel Manage Your Course Date Manager
2
What do those dates refer to? When adding content to the Lessons tab, there are several tabs that contain sets of dates. The next 3 slides define each of the various (possible 3) date settings that are found when adding content to the lessons tab.
3
Lessons Tab > Add content The tool settings have 2 separate tabs presenting you with dates. Where the content that you have chosen to add is a quiz, then you will have 3 separate tabs presenting dates. What do these dates mean? Gaining an understanding of their meaning will help you when making your settings.
4
First Set of Dates The dates shown under the Access tab refer to the dates when this item will be seen by students. These dates will apply only after you have entered a check mark. Where no check mark occurs, the item is visible by default. One example of where this option can be used is when a single shell contains multiple classes over several quarters. Eg SPA 121 exams don’t need to be visible during SPA 122 quarter. SPA 123 doesn’t want to see coursework for SPA 121
5
2 nd set of Dates Under the Assignment tab, once ‘Item Completion’ has been selected, a set of dates will appear. These dates apply if you want the item to appear in the calendar and milestones.
6
3 rd set of dates A quiz offers an additional tab called ‘Interaction’. This tab presents dates as well. These dates determine when the exam is available to take. The students may be able to see (Access tab) the exam but the link is not ‘live’ until the Interaction date allows them to click it.
7
How do I update the DATES when I copy my course from quarter to quarter? When you copy your course from one shell into another you will want to update the dates. ANGEL has developed a time-efficient way of doing this process. The next 4 slides will step you through this process. Be sure to watch the video on the last slide.
