There are 24 mining projects taking place on the same They expect to extract (take out) over 7.2 million ounces of Silver in a period of 6 years. 3 People forced to leave home The company that bought the mine has bought 144 kilometers of land. Causing villagers to lose some of their property and houses. They have been forced to move out of their homes so the company could use the land for mining equipment. ipsnews.net

5 Work Conditions Ministry of Labor cannot conduct thorough labor inspections throughout the country, especially outside the manufacturing districts, and worker complaints of being mistreated go uninvestigated. The people that work on the mine are forced to work with 2.75 U.S dollars an hour. Workers are on the job 6 days a week, for 8 hours a day. They get paid, however, for 7 days (56 hours) of work each week. Minors between age 14 and 18 are required to work no more than 6 hours a day (Nations encyclopedia)

9 Cyanide Pollution The heat produced in the mine causes the Cyanide to evaporate.
