NATIONAL CODE OF ELECTRICITY - USE
GENERAL Use of Approved Materials and Equipment The materials and equipment used in electrical installations, must count with approval by the competent Authority, and to be of the kind, type and nominal value that correspond to the specific intention (purpose) for which it must be utilized. Installations Execution Quality All electrical installation must be made by qualified and authorized personnel, using certified products and applying the Code rules (regulations), in such a way that the quality is acceptable.

PERUVIAN STANDARDS - NGV
NTP Service station of natural gas vehicular The entire electrical system of the dispenser shall be intrinsically safe or explosion proof according to NFPA 70. All electrical installations usually located where flammable gases may be present, such as the area of dispensers, NGV compressor and storage, must conform to the requirements of the National Electrical Code (Peruvian), NFPA 70 or NFPA 52.

SUMMARY Several IEC standards are adopted by Peruvian Standards, but we will start the adoption of TC-31 standards by 2014. The hazardous locations classification is regulated by the Electrical Code. Classe I (Zones 0,1,2), Classe II and III (Divisions 1, 2). Currently, there are not both the certification of electrical products and the conformity assessment procedures; however, usually it requires the certification in the country of origin. The regulations on Explosive Atmospheres, cover in general way but not sistematically, the entire life cycle of plants containing hazardous areas; by means of compliance National Electrical Code and the regulations of the Hydrocarbons General Directorate.
