Planning an audio clip

Your prototype should thus far have… a home section featuring a basic map of the school a section featuring a short video a section featuring a downloadable prospectus a section featuring an audio advert or interview Each section must be accessible from any other section.

Using “Radio” (audio) as an effective medium for communication Radio isn’t dead! Radio has the ability to reach people at relevant times and places. If you want to talk to them about cars why not do it when they're in their car? If you want to talk to them about work, then speak to them while they are there, and similarly if you want to direct them online, why not talk to them when they're consuming a medium which enhances the online experience? Radio has the ability to do all of this, with one recent study showing that radio increases online brand browsing by an average of 52%.

For your virtual tour (and your CA) you are expected to create an audio broadcast The specification asks you for an audio clip. I don’t mind whether you do an interview or an advert BUT your clip must have voice and sound effects It must also be a minimum of 45 seconds long

In this lesson students are learning about: What makes an effective audio clip How to write an effective script

At the end of this lesson students will be able to: Construct an effective script for their audio clip

Listen to the following clips Apologies, these are not terribly good quality!

What makes them effective?

What should you say in an advert? http://smallbusiness.chron.com/say- 30second-radio-advertising-spot-10065.html http://smallbusiness.chron.com/say- 30second-radio-advertising-spot-10065.html

Before you go ahead…guess what… YOU NEED A PLAN! This means that you will have to gather any sound sources AND plan your script. For your Audio clip and your CA you will need to plan this through and this is what we aim to do for the remainder of this lesson.

Task Using Promo_template.doc create a script for your audio clipPromo_template.doc
