7 THE MAIN POINTS  Taking notes helps you remember information, especially if you focus on main points and important details  Reviewing notes and linking them to other information helps you learn  Summarizing and/or annotating notes saves time in studying  There are many methods for taking notes or working with them afterwards – the Cornell Method is the most commonly recommended, but experiment to see what works best for you  There are lots of resources if you’ve tried one strategy and feel its not been successful  If you struggle with learning /remembering information from your text or lectures, try these resources and/or come to CAPS to meet with an advisor
