T h e y r e Contraction of they are. Note the spelling: The a from are is replaced by an apostrophe. **Example: Theyre 1, 2, 3, 5, and 7. (contraction of they are)

TheirTheir A possessive pronoun. It always describes a noun. Note the spelling of their. It comes from the word they, so the E comes before the I. **Example: Their dog has fleas. (possessive of they)

ThereThere Adverb meaning that location. Sometimes used with the verb to be as an idiom. Spelt like there which means this location. **Example: I put the collar right there. (that location)

AffectAffect A verb meaning to influence. **Example: How will your absence affect your class participation grade?

EffectEffect A noun meaning result. A verb meaning to accomplish or to produce. **Examples: * What effect did your absences have on your class participation grade? * To effect a change, all of the political party members must work hard and have patience.
