R ATE What is a rate? A rate is a comparison of two quantities using division(sounds like ratios, right?) that have different units. Example: Reads “60 miles per 2 hours” This is a unit rate

U NIT R ATE What is a unit rate? A unit rate is a rate in which the denominator has a quantity of 1 unit. Example: 4 packets of oatmeal per 2 cup of water.

U NIT P RICE What is a unit price? A unit price is a unit rate that compares cost to item(or cost per item) Example: $5 for 2 bags of family size chips

A PPLICATION By design, movies can be viewed on screens with varying aspect ratios. The most common ones are Order the width-to-height ratios from least to greatest.

F INDING U NIT P RICE Black CDs can be purchased in packages of 3 for $4.99, or 10 for $15.49. Which is the better buy?
