On January 11, 2012, the New Brunswick Minister of Education and Early Childhood Development, Honourable Jody Carr, announced plans for a major re-organization of the Provinces 14 School Districts. This action was taken to provide a more efficient and effective structure for schools to provide a quality learning environment for its students in light of the on-going changes in student demographics and fiscal accountability. On July 1, 2012, the present School District structure consisting of 9 Anglophone and 5 Francophone Districts will become 4 Anglophone and 3 Francophone structures. 2
