PMBOK® Guide Project management is most successful when founded in best practices. The GRO Project Management Handbook is based on the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) Guide. The PMBOK® Guide is an American National Standard (ANSI/PMI ) and was developed by the Project Management Institute (PMI).

Initiating Projects Introduce and Discuss the Project
Develop the Project Charter Use the template in Appendix A and distribute it to key stakeholders for review The project sponsor approves the project charter The project manager proceeds to the Planning, Executing, Monitoring and Controlling, and Closing procedures

Project Portfolio Management
The GRO Project Management Specialist adds and maintains projects on the GRO Project List, based on discussions and/or regular status meetings. The GRO Project List includes information on all project priorities, schedule, responsibilities, and status.
