Water heater problems Carbon Monoxide is colorless, odorless and tasteless. Improperly vented appliances can lead to CO poisoning © 2011 RCIS LLC

Venting issues It is a little tough to tell here, but the black object sticking out of the wall is the boiler vent with a filter on it. The black item below is a fan helping circulate the warm air. © 2011 RCIS LLC

Venting issues Same house, this is the water heater venting. The boiler vent from the previous slide is the large pipe with the pink can on it. © 2011 RCIS LLC

Other hazards Some situations require no explanation © 2011 RCIS LLC

Other issues Improperly vented dryers can also be a hazard. Left – not supposed to reduce the vent, on the right, plastic is a fire hazard and the next slide shows where this pipe goes. © 2011 RCIS LLC

Other issues This is a screened in box, full of lint, underneath the enclosed back porch of the same home with the plastic dryer vent pipe seen in the previous slide. © 2011 RCIS LLC
