WELCOME PRIVATE ORGANIZATIONS

All organizations must be in compliance with AFI 34-223 Members must operate outside the scope of any official capacity as officers, employees, or agents of the federal government. Must have written consent from the installation commander. Limited to two fundraisers per quarter. Must have liability insurance or request a waiver of insurance. Members of the official and unofficial activity are personally liable for all debts incurred by their organization. Compliance

Unofficial Private Organization – – Less than $1K in assets avg/3 months. – – No constitution & by-laws required. – – Insurance waiver or liability insurance updated annually. Sooner if situation warrants

Official Private Organizations Required to submit: – –Current constitution & by-laws Validated biennially or when changes occur. – –Financial statements –Current list of officers –Tax ID # (if applicable) www.irs.gov

POs May Not: Compete with gov’t activities. –Conduct fundraisers during the CFC and AFAF. Use NAF or APF funds. Conduct games of chance, lotteries, raffles, or other gambling type activities. Conduct continuous sales Sell alcoholic beverages

POs Must: Have Public Health’s approval prior to submitting their pkg. for fundraisers involving open food items, i.e., bake sales. Have Environmental Flight’s approval prior to submitting their pkg. for car washes Have AAFES approval for fundraisers located at the BX/Commissary.
