Background What are we doing in the MIS How are we to do it Who will do what What Result are we Expecting What do we require to achieve the expected result

One of the new departments born as a child of necessity to strengthen the Project Cycle Management, especially, the M&E system by not only upgrading the existing table top MIS, but to essentially provide solution to project implementation challenges in data collection, collation, analysis and its timely use for result oriented decision making, for the attainment of project objective. The new vision is to integrate ICT (GSM, GIS, Internet, etc) into Project Cycle Management to provide user friendly, efficient and effective real time data collection, storage, retrieval and management system.
4
The main objective of the component is to upscale the current system of data collection to modern and speedy linkage& integration of data / information need of the project stakeholder in a more user-friendly and efficient manner. Specific Duties I. Review the Project Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and identify all data needs to be integrated into the Project MIS; II. Review information provided by all key stakeholders of the project and integrates the corrections into the project database at State, Zonal and National levels. III. Maintain and monthly update the project database at the State, Zonal and National levels. IV. Regularly Provide Technical Backstopping to users of the MIS at all levels; V. Work closely with the ICT and GIS units in providing advice to the Management for the development of a ICT- GIS-based Management Information System.

Participatory Identification of project data needs Development of Farmers and other actors databases Data Collection and uploading (offline and internet based) using Panex software

Parameters: This module enable us to capture the different parameters used in the MIS. It define the analytical chart, the location chart, the investment chart and the indicators. The project actors and the benefiting groups profiles are also defined in parameters. Subproject: This module deals with the subprojects management from grant allocation to subproject closure and evaluation. Summary tables and progress reports are printed out from this module. Capacity Building: Trainings related to capacity building are captured in the module. Monitoring and Evaluation: This module gives a synthesis of the project progress. It enable us to capture the plan and actual values for indicators, writing reports for each activity, component, and project as a whole. Many comparative tables can be printed out to enable quick decision taking. Data collection forms are also printed out from the module. System Configuration: Control database management and user access strategy. This module enables exporting/importing data. FADAMA management information system is decentralized at LGA level. During implementation, all subprojects data are processed by the different LGAs. Data are sent at regular intervals to the State coordination and the national coordination offices.
