5 Community Orientation for Behavioural Problems

6 Behaviour problems - Background Behaviour related problems are prevalent in primary care Risky behaviours –E.g. Smoking, alcohol drinking, unhealthy diet, physical inactivity, stress Drug abuse Family violence Unsafe driving Sexual behaviour...

7 Objectives Will know the Prevalence and consequences of risky behaviour Risk management strategies Will be able to Identify and assess risky behaviour Advise behaviour change Will be willing to Openly discuss health behaviours with the patients Offer advice at the right moment Delegate tasks to other professionals if needed

8 Time schedule 1 week intensive teaching –Department of FM –Practices –Field work
