KEY MILESTONES: Collaboration with NDT to develop Tourism Charter, then a first of its kind in the country Successful lobbying for a dedicated National Ministry of Tourism Collaboration to develop the National Service Excellence Strategy, which formed the basis of the Tourism Service Excellence Initiative Collaboration to develop the National Tourism Sector Strategy (NTSS)

ABOUT TOMSA Constitutes 1% confirmed booking – accommodation, tour, car rental and/or travel package This is paid to the TBCSA on a monthly basis TOMSA levy collection is voluntary, the amount paid does not constitute a tax to the business as it is paid by the guest Of the 500 levy collectors we currently have on the system – 170 in Gauteng Through TBCSA CEOs Forum we are currently engaging other sectors such as business tourism to support this initiative

TOMSA ASSOCIATION INITIATIVE The associations are to encourage their members to sign up to collect TOMSA levy Each association will receive 10% commission of the monthly levies paid by the recruited members of the association

BENEFITS 10% Discount on participation at INDABA Discounts on Grading TOMSA collectors are offered an opportunity to provide input and receive feedback about the SA Tourism’s annual performance planning process Tourism BEE score card TOMSA levy collectors receive 3% toward score

HOW TO BECOME A LEVY COLLECTOR Start by filling in a contract. (Website) Submit to TOMSA. (Email or Fax) Get account/reference number. Use your account/reference number when making payment. When payment is received, a tax invoice is issued and emailed to the contact’s email address.
