1 Bullying By Y1

2 Bullying is when someone does mean things lots and lots of times on purpose.
Bullying is not nice.

3 Bullying is a mean thing to do to people because it makes them upset.

4 Bullying hurts people’s feelings. Bullying hurts people’s bodies
Bullying hurts people’s feelings. Bullying hurts people’s bodies. Bullying makes people feel really sad and worried.

5 Listen to our short stories and see if you can answer the questions…

6 I fell out with my friend yesterday while we were playing
I fell out with my friend yesterday while we were playing. I suddenly felt really angry and I called her a mean name. I was so sorry afterwards. I said sorry. I’ll try my best not to be mean to her again. We’ve never fallen out before. Am I a bully?

7 You’re not a bully. You have never been unkind to your friend before and you were sorry for calling her the mean name. You said sorry and you promised to try not to be mean again.

8 Every day when I am playing out, the same 2 boys come and say mean things to my friend. I have seen them kick and push him lots of times. They said they would hurt him if he told the teacher. Is he being bullied? What should I do?

9 Your friend could be being bullied
Your friend could be being bullied. Because the boys have been unkind to your friend lots of times and they have threatened him, it is important that you try to help him. You could suggest to your friend that you go together and tell a teacher.

10 We have written a class poem about what we have learnt…
