Leonard Woolley Led an excavation at Ur Uncovered different layers that held artifacts from Ur’s history 5000 B.C. to 2000 B.C.

Layers Deepest layer was the remains of an Ubaid Village (1) Above that layer was 8 feet of mud, evidence a flood destroyed Ur (2) Ur was rebuilt, and the Royal Cemetery of Ur was found (3) Highest layer of ruins contained small mud-brick buildings. Euphrates changed course, Ur was abandoned (4)
