Machining Overview All products that we use in our everyday life have been machined in one way or another. Our modern civilization depends on machining technologies. Machine tools range from simple hand operated machines to Computer Narrated Control (CNC) machines. Machining make it capable to produce precision parts in mass production at a low cost. Having high productivity from machines allows for higher wages for workers. This is why countries like America have such a good economy and high standards of living.

Drill Press The drill press- consists of a rotating tool, this can be drilling, reaming, or tapping. These operation include making a hole, finishing, or threading a hole.

Band saw Band saw- used for cutting stock.

Vertical Band saw Vertical Band saw- Used for cutting smaller stock by hand

Lathe The lathe- consists of a single-point cutting tool which removes metal as it moves along a revolving part.

Trac Three Axis Mill The milling machine- consists of a revolving tool that moves around a stationary part.

Surface Grinder The grinder-consist of abrasive particles cutting the part. These particles are bonded together to form wheels or stones.

CNC Mill CNC Mill- Mill that has Computer Narrated Control
