Michelle said that Mo Mo is so cute! Did you expect the bully in the show to be a different animal? Something maybe not as cute?
3
Just like there are many different types of bullying, bullies themselves come in all shapes and sizes and can be boys or girls.
4
Bullying is wrong no matter how cute or popular the bully is. We all need to be careful that we are not accidentally bullying someone else by using our friendships or influence over others against them.
5
Mo Mo said rhymes because that made her popular with the other monkeys. The trouble is not all of her rhymes were nice and the one against Ollie in particular hurt her. Do you think that Mo Mo was teasing Ollie because she thought that it made her more popular with her friends?
6
Yes, I think so and if that was the case, then Mo Mo was actually showing that she was feeling very weak or insecure. You know, when people turn into bullies it actually shows that they have a weakness. Bullies usually have problems themselves and need help too.
7
Well, if bullying shows that you are feeling weak or insecure, what do you think being an encouraging person shows?
8
It shows that you are sure enough of yourself to give encouragement to someone else.
9
Could Mo Mo have used her rhymes to encourage others instead of bullying them?
10
Yes, in fact she did encourage Ollie with her rhyme about Ollie’s ability to run.
11
Do you think she still would be popular if she encouraged others with her rhymes?
12
Well, sadly, not necessarily. But having real friends is better than just being popular and she would definitely get more of those. Remember, you reap what you sow.
13
I was so down and had forgotten I could run fast because I had focussed on what the bully was saying. Is it all Mo Mo’s fault that I was so down ?
14
Mo Mo was definitely wrong to tease Ollie, but Ollie could have helped herself by encouraging herself too.
15
If you are being bullied it’s really important that you don’t see yourself as the bully does. Respect yourself and never give up.
