Aukštaitija National Park Žemaitija National Park Dzūkija National Parks Trakų National Historic Park Curonian Spit National Park Lithuania is a very beautiful country. There are five national parks in Lithuania:

Aukštaitija National Park is in north-eastern Lithuania, about 100 km north of Vilnius. Established in 1974, it is the oldest of the five national parks. 59% of all Lithuania’s native plant species were found in the park. The park is famous for clean lakes, and ethnographic villages. There are 126 lakes in the park.

Dzūkija National Park in the southeast of Lithuania is covered by a dense forest. It is a popular place to gather berries and mushrooms. Dzūkija National Park This park is the largest protected area in Lithuania (697 km 2 ).

Žemaitija National Park is situated on Žemaičių Highlands, 45 km from the Baltic Sea. Lakes cover more than 7% of its territory. Lake Plateliai (47 m depth) is the largest lake. This is an interesting place for people who like natural environment, and activities like cycling, diving, fishing, bird watching.

The Trakai national park is dedicated to the historically important Trakai town rather than scenery. There are a lot of lakes in this national park.

The Curonian Spit is 98 km long narrow sand strip between the Baltic Sea and the Curonian Lagoon. The best way to look around is by cycling.
