4. 4 RA VI workshop on WIS implementation, Sofia, 1-3 November 2011 RMDCN Configuration 49 sites are connected –45 National meteorological services 35 from RA-VI –ECMWF –EUMETSAT (2 sites) –1 disaster recovery site for The Netherlands Israel connected to the RMDCN (June 2011 - 1 Mbps Mission Critical) South Africa is being connected (2 Mbps Mission Critical) Very reliable

RMDCN From 64 kbps to 8 Mbps 2 access circuits or 1 circuit + backup Some RA-VI countries have not joined RMDCN, mainly due to cost concerns. –This situation is not likely to change in a near future 2 nd WMO Task Team on the RMDCN 28-29 June 2011 at ECMWF, Reading –Topics related to the requirements for the next generation of the RMDCN were discussed RA-VI Workshop on next generation RMDCN in spring 2012
