Open textbook to page 770 and 771. Read Literary Focus and Background. In your own words, write the definition of myth. How does the hero myth compare/contrast to the hero’s journey. Find Troizen, the home of Theseus. How did the geographical features of Greece lead to their being many small independent kingdoms rather than one unified state. Myths and Society

Examine the list of characters on page 772. Divide a piece of paper into eight squares. In each square, list a character, a characteristic and a picture.
