Rosa Parks was born on February 4, 1913 in Tuckegee, Alabama
Rosa Parks was born on February 4, 1913 in Tuckegee, Alabama. She lived with her grandparents and Mom. When Rosa was 4 years old she went to a one room school in Georgia.

In 1933, Rosa got her high school diploma.

In 1943 she joined the N.A.A.C.P. That stands for National Association Advancement of Colored People. Rosa liked working there because she was a black person and her job was to stand up for black people.

Then in 1954, the Supreme Court said that schools could not be segregated anymore. Rosa was happy when she heard the news and so were other black people.

On December 1, 1955, Rosa was arrested for refusing to give up her seat to a white person on the a bus. Then she went to court and she and she was found guilty of breaking the law on December 5, The bus boycott began again on December 5,

In 1964,President Lyndon Johnson signed the Civil Rights act of It said African Americans had to be treated fairly. Rosa was happy when she heard the news so were other people.

Then in 1965, President Johnson signed the voting Act of It said you can not stop African Americans from voting. Then Rosa began working for Congressman John Conyers of Michigan.

Rosa Parks died on Oct.24, 2005 from dementia. Dementia means you die from old age.
