4. Course Information Attend at least 5 program sessions during the convention. To document your attendance, ask the presenter(s) of each session you attend to sign the form that has been provided. The signed form must accompany your application project. Your project may address 1 or more of the sessions you attended. The convention offers 9 sessions. *note: The post-convention APE workshop sponsored by Carroll College involves a separate registration process and thus, does not count toward credit for HED 467/567.

5. Course Information Develop a “focused” application project. An application project portrays how a concept, idea, theory, or practical teaching technique can be applied to your actual or projected professional setting and enhances your professional contribution or development in Health Education. Examples Using Technology to Teach AODA Prevention Education Combat Obesity and Promote Health and Wellness Online!

6. Course Information Your project might include: an introduction to establish a rationale for the project a description of the project knowledge, skills, teaching applications, etc. gained from the project how you plan to (or did) implement the project personal and professional insights about the project, especially those that occurred as a result of actually implementing the project

7. Course Information Undergraduate credit The project outline should be 1-2 pages. The primary document should be 3-5 pages, excluding additional attachments. Graduate credit The project outline should be 1-2 pages. The primary document should be 6-9 pages and should provide a more detailed description of the project to include an alignment with national health education and/or physical education standards/competencies. Include how students or adolescents will grow and develop in the identified standards/competencies. A copy of the National Health Education Standards can be found at: http://www.cdc.gov/healthyyouth/sher/standards/

8. Due Dates Project outlines are due on Friday, November 2nd, 2012. Application projects are due on Friday, November 16th, 2012.
