2 Prior to beginning the Enterprise Portal Collaboration training, please review the 10.0 Portal Overview Presentation. The Portal Overview Presentation will introduced you to the basic components of the Portal and how users interact with them on various levels. Introduction to Collaboration Server

3 The Collaboration Server is one of the activity servers available in the Enterprise Portal. The Collaboration Server allows Project members to share information with others. These Projects are web-based workspaces that provide the tools required to effectively and efficiently share information. Collaboration also provides powerful notification and subscription services to notify members when colleagues have made contributions or changes. Introduction to Collaboration Server

4 To access the Portal open Internet Explorer browser and go to the following URL. http://www.portal.state.pa.us Introduction to Collaboration Server

5 If you are not already logged into the Portal, you will need to login Introduction to Collaboration Server

6 Once logged into the Portal, you can access all Collaboration Projects for which you have been given permissions. The following matrix describes permissions for each level of access for each functional area: All Collaboration objects have five levels of access: No Access, Read, Write, Edit, and Admin. Each access level above No Access inherits the rights from all lower access levels. Introduction to Collaboration Server

8 By Default, Collaboration Projects are sized at 2 GB when initially set up. Collaboration Project Leaders will receive a notification when a Project exceeds 85% of it’s maximum size. If this occurs, the Enterprise Portal team can increase the size to a maximum of 4 GB.
