AHS Graduation Requirements Continued Credit Requirements Credit Requirements –Starting with the class of 2013 and beyond, 230 credits is the minimum –240 credits is the minimum for the classes of 2012 and 2011 –These credits are composed of required subjects and elective subjects. Once students have met the minimum subject requirements additional classes will count as electives. –A student must be enrolled in 6 classes (60 credits) per year –Senior who have proof of DVC classes and/or a job and are on track to be able to take five classes may do so. California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE) California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE) –These tests are taken in 10 th grade and students must pass both the English and Math portions. –If a student does not pass either or both of the test sections they will have additional opportunities to pass. –Once a student has passed one or both of the test sections they will not have to take it again.

Putting Graduation And College Eligibility Together In order to graduate AND be A-G eligible students just have to make sure they do the following: In order to graduate AND be A-G eligible students just have to make sure they do the following: –Make sure that ALL of the subject requirements meet the A-G list. In other words, they are college prep classes. –Make sure to take 1 year of a college prep Visual/Performing Art (VPA) AND at least 2 years of a language other than English. –Take three years of math up to Algebra 2/Trigonometry –Take at least 1 additional year of a college prep elective. –Earn all C- or better.
