2 Requirements & Other Info. 1 year (36 weeks) 2 credits Grades 9-11 First class the Agriculture Department Offers. Provides an opportunity for students to learn how the agriculture industry is organized. Major Components: the economic influence of agriculture at state, national and international levels. Basic Concepts: Animals science, Plant science, Soil science, Horticulture, Agriculture resources, Ag business management, Ag mechanics, and FFA.

3 Ag. Mechanics & Technologies

4 Requirements & Other Info. 1 year. 2 credits. Grades 10-12 Must complete and pass Into to Ag. Students will gain basic principals of construction and plumbing. Students will also learn the basic wiring skills and safety practices.

5 Welding

6 Requirements & Other Info. 1 semester (18 weeks) 1 credit Grades 10-12 Must have completed/passed Intro-to-Ag. During Welding you will learn the basics of welding, the different welds, and how to weld them.

7 Small Engines

8 Requirements & Other Info. 1 semester (18 weeks) 1 credit. Grades 10-12 Must complete and pass Into to Ag. Designed to develop student knowledge and skills in the area of Ag Mechanics. Learn how to operate equipment safety and maintain and repair gas engines.

9 Agriculture Science

10 Requirements & Other Info. 1 year. 2 credits Grade 10-12 Science Elective Must complete and pass Into to Ag Major units of instruction include advanced plant and soil science, advanced animal sciences and skills necessary for maintaining and repairing equipment and/or facilities.

11 Agriculture Youth Leadership

12 Requirements & Other Info. 1 semester 1 credit Grades 11-12 Must complete and pass Into to Ag Types and styles of leadership will be discussed. Activities on communication, listening, and goals will expand the curriculum.

13 Horticulture

14 Requirements & Other Info. 1year 2 credits Grades 10-12 Plant anatomy and reproduction, pest management, crop selection, fertilization and pest management strategies.

15 Animal Science

16 Requirements & Other Info 1 semester 1 credit Grades 11 & 12 Topics of study are growth and development of animals, embryology, ethology, nutrition, Immunity systems, processing animal products, preservation fermentation, and pasteurization

17 Landscape and turf management

18 Requirements & Other Info 1 year 2 credits Grades 11 & 12 Units of instruction include identifying landscape plants, studying basic principles of plant science, designing landscape plants, hard- scape construction techniques, and installing landscape plants.
