Positive Behavior Support gives people a new way to think about behavior. PBS is based on understanding why problem behaviors occur-the behavior’s function.

In 2003, the Louisiana Legislature passed the Juvenile Reform Act 1225, which provides direction to the Board of Elementary and Secondary Education. (BESE)

BESE would formulate, develop and recommend a Model Master Plan for improving behavior and discipline within schools that includes the utilization of positive behavioral supports and other effective disciplinary tools. Each city, parish, and other local public school board should be responsible for the development of school master plans supporting student behavior and discipline based upon model master plan developed and approved by BESE.

Buy back instructional time by decreasing office discipline referrals and suspensions. Help us to create an environment that is conducive to learning.

SWPBS is a component of SIP and should be reviewed with all faculty and staff as frequently as possible. We must be committed to improving behavior as a way to improve student performance.
