To Serve and To Learn The servant-leader is servant first….it begins with the natural feeling that one wants to serve, to serve, first. Then conscious choice brings one to aspire to lead…the difference manifests itself in the care taking by the servant-first to make sure that other people’s highest priority needs are being served. The ‘best test’ and difficult to administer, is: do those being served grow as persons; do they while being served, become healthier, wiser, freer, more autonomous, more likely themselves to become servants? And, what is the effect on the least privileged in society; will they benefit, or at least, not be further deprived? –Robert Greenleaf

Happiness Is... If you want happiness for an hour, –take a nap. If you want happiness for a day, –go fishing. If you want happiness for a year, –inherit a fortune. If you want happiness for a lifetime, –help someone else. –Old Chinese Proverb

The Gift of Giving The greatest grace of a gift, perhaps, is that it anticipates and admits of no return. –Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Service… The Greatest Gift Anyone can be great….because anyone can serve. You don’t have to have a college degree to serve. You don’t have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace - a soul generated by love. –Martin Luther King, Jr.

Character If you think about what you ought to do for other people, your character will take care of itself. –President Woodrow Wilson

Wisdom of Dr. Seuss You have brains in your head, you have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself in any direction you choose. »Dr. Seuss

Just Do Something I am only one, but still, I am one. I cannot do everything but I can do something. And, because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do what I can –Helen Keller

Trail Blazing Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail. –Anonymous
