What to do??? Solid, Gas, Liquid, Plasma – GREAT Website to REVIEW States of Matter with Sweet Video (ALL)!!! Viscosity – Viscosity Video Surface Tension – Penny Experiment Boyles/Charles Law – Boyles/Charles Law Animation None – Song Crystalline/Amorphous – look at Crystals do a Quick Frayer model for both terms
3
Solid, Liquid, Gas, Plasma
Watch the video on the link and fill in the following grid. Name Shape Volume movement Solid Liquid Gas Plasma
4
Viscosity Watch Viscosity Video and answer the following questions
Which liquid flowed the slowest? Which liquid had the highest viscosity? How does viscosity explain why one liquid flows faster than the other?
5
Surface Tension Take the droppers and a penny
See how many drops of water fit on a penny with just pure water and how many fit with soapy water Explain how surface tension explains why one type fits more drops than the other.
6
Boyles and Charles LAW Watch the Boyles Law and Charles Law animation. (Click view online for free) Define Boyles law and explain what is happening in the Boyles Law animation Define Charles law and explain what is happening in the Charles Law animation
7
None Write a song with the following words and meanings
Solid, liquid, gas, plasma, surface tension, viscosity, crystalline solid, amorphous solid, Charles law, and Boyles law
8
Crystalline and Amorphous
Watch the video on the computer at station 6. Look at crystals and figure out which is crystalline and amorphous. Use the definitions in the book and the movie to help you make quick frayer models for each term

Solid, Liquid, Gas, Plasma
Watch the video on the link and fill in the following grid. Name Shape Volume movement Solid Yes Vibrate Liquid No Slide Gas free, bounce Plasma Broken, fast
12
Viscosity Watch Viscosity Video and answer the following questions
Which liquid flowed the slowest? White or clear Which liquid had the highest viscosity? White or clear How does viscosity explain why one liquid flows faster than the other? Viscosity is a liquids resistance to flow, so the white liquid resisted the flow the most.
13
Surface Tension Take the droppers and a penny
See how many drops of water fit on a penny with just pure water and how many fit with soapy water Explain how surface tension explains why one type fits more drops than the other. Soapy water is more slippery and thus less surface tension. The water sticks together more, thus having more surface tension and amount of drops.
14
Boyles and Charles LAW Watch the Boyles Law and Charles Law animation.
Define Boyles law and explain what is happening in the Boyles Law animation Boyles law states that for a fixed amount of gas at a constant temperature if pressure decreases, volume increases. In the animation as to increase pressure the volume decreases. Define Charles law and explain what is happening in the Charles Law animation Charles law states that for a fixed gas at a constant pressure as temperature increases volume increases. In the animation as you increase temperature the volume increases.

Crystalline and Amorphous
Look at crystals and figure out which is crystalline and amorphous Use the definitions in the book to help you, and explain why you picked each one Crystalline – orderly arrangement and specific shape. Amorphous – random order and no specific shape.
