1 DBQ Corrections HW 1.Write legibly!!!! Do NOT word process. Must be on rubric. Write draft on a separate sheet (I don’t need to see the draft). 2.Use proper grammar. 3.Be clear, direct and concise in your writing. 4.Make sure you understand the question that is being asked. 5.Where you earned a ZERO on the rubric, correct it. In other words, rewrite that portion. 6.Sign-up to conference with Mrs. N about your corrections. Bring your original DBQ essay with corrections. Must have all of the above to conference. If you do NOT come with the proper materials and do NOT follow directions on this PPT, I will NOT conference with you.

2 DBQ Corrections Continued MUST: 1.When referring to documents, must write DOC# and source. 2.Have a topic (point to prove) sentence at the beginning of each body paragraph. 3.Have a full POV (write out) focusing on SOAPSTone. 4.FULL explanation why that additional doc is necessary.

3 Understand the word EFFECT It is a noun!!!! Reword the question: –What were the economic and social results, outcomes, products, consequences, of the Spanish conquest of the Americas after 1492? Name three effects (results, outcomes, products, consequences). http://www.quickanddirtytips.com/education/grammar/affect-versus-effect

4 Word of Caution About Kaplan Review Book Gives you good GENERAL advise, but the sample essay is NOT even a 7. Thesis is basic and NOT analytical. POV is inadequate. Additional Doc request is basic and does NOT fully answer WHY it is need.
