4. COLLEGE AND BUSINESS  James Cash Penny wanted to go to college so he could be a lawyer but he didn’t have enough money so he decided to work in a dry good store.  Then he bought a butcher shop with all of his money.

5. CLOTHING STORE James Cash Penny took a job at a clothing store in Denver, Colorado.

6. JC PENNY STORE OPENS!!!  1. The JC Penny store opened April 14,1902.  2. It only had one room.  3. James Cash Penny named his store JC Penny.  4. This store made him famous!
