Pronouns take the place of nouns. Matt has a new car. He is very careful driving it. My sister got a cat. It is black and white.

Singular pronouns take the place of singular nouns. The lady goes shopping. She is looking for a new dress. Bob wants a new soccer ball. He wants it to be red and blue.

The children play on the new playground. They are excited. The moms planned several parties for the year. They worked hard on them. Plural pronouns take the place of plural nouns.
