* In English the direct object is an object that receives the direct action from the verb * Ex: I wash the table. * In this sentence your direct object is the table, it receives the action of the verb, the table is what it being cleaned by me. * Now you have to replace the direct object (the table) with a direct object pronoun (it) * The sentence now looks like this: I wash it.
3
* A direct object pronoun prevents us from continuously repeating the direct object * Ex: I wash the table. I set the table and eat at the table. * A direct object pronoun turns the sentence into I wash the table. I set it and eat at it.

* Yo lavo la mesa * The direct object is the table so we insert a direct object pronoun in place of la mesa. * We use la as the object pronoun because la mesa is feminine and singular * You must place the direct object pronoun in front of the active conjugated verb * The sentence should now look like this: Yo la lavo.
6
* When you have two verbs you can always put it directly in front of the conjugated Ex: Yo lo voy a limpiar * However, now that you have two verbs you have two different options * You can attach the pronoun to the end of an infinitive or a present participle Ex: Yo voy a limpiarlo
