New Perspectives on the Internet, 8 th Edition Deleting an Email Message and Label When you no longer need a message, you can delete it by selecting the check box to the left of the message in the Inbox, and then clicking the Delete button You can delete a label by clicking the Settings link, clicking the Labels link, and then clicking the remove link for the label When you delete a message or label, you are marking it with the Trash label The default setting for Gmail accounts is for the system to delete all messages marked with the Trash label after 30 days
