3.  I was born in Wellsville, Utah in Cache Valley.  I am 28 years old  I got married a little over a three years ago to my wife and best friend Dani who you can see to the right on our cruise to Alaska.  My first name is Mike!

5.  Let me tell you about my family.  I am the second youngest of six kids. I have an older brother who is a dentist in Oregon and a sister who is a nurse in Arizona. My dad is a Principal of a middle school in Cache Valley.

6.  I love to travel.  Some of my favorite places I have traveled to are Jamaica, Bahamas, Mexico, Alaska, Las Vegas, Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, Scotland, England, and Oregon.

7.  I spent two years in Scotland on a mission for the LDS Church.  I still love to speak with a Scottish accent and you will constantly find me using Scottish words in class.

8.  A year ago I graduated from Utah State University with a Bachelors Degree in Biological Science.  I met my wife at Utah State University where she has recently graduated with a degree in Technical Writing

9.  I am actually still attending Utah State University.  I am currently getting a Masters Degree in Instructional Technology. I will graduate in Spring 2011.

10.  I love movies!  Some of my favorite movies include Lord of the Rings, Saving Private Ryan, The Dark Knight, Iron Man, Indiana Jones, and Serenity.

11.  I like video games!  I own an Xbox 360 which I love to play in my spare time  Some of my favorite recent video games are Halo 3, Fallout 3, Call of Duty games, Uncharted, etc.  Halo Reach comes out in a couple of weeks. YES!

12.  I like sports.  My two favorite teams are the Denver Broncos and the Phoenix Suns.  The Utah Jazz are probably my second favorite basketball team.

13.  Sports I like include basketball, baseball, football, golf, and tennis.

14.  My favorite bands are probably Dave Matthews Band, Counting Crows, and Coldplay.  I do like all sorts of music though and I’ll listen to about anything.  This year you will hear plenty of music during class.

15.  In addition to traveling me and my wife like to go camping and hiking.  We are pictured hiking around a waterfall in Jamaica to the right.  We also like going to comedy clubs, hanging out with family, and just laughing.

16.  Science is Awesome. I like it because it explains all of the different aspects of the world we live in.  My dad was a science teacher and so was his dad.  I remember from a young age watching my dad perform experiments and I always thought it was cool.

17.  Throughout the year if you have any questions or concerns, please just ask me or email me. I feel like I am really easy to work with and understanding but I need to know there is a problem before I can address it.

18.  Do you have any last second burning questions about your new science teacher?  I was once asked what my favorite cheese was after this discussion so no question is stupid.  My favorite cheese is mozzarella!

19.  This game is played by taking a note card where I want you to answer the following questions.  1. What is your full name?  2. When I am older I want to……..  3. What is your favorite movie?  4. What is your favorite thing to do in your spare time?  5. If you could learn anything in science what would it be?  6. If you could have lunch with anybody dead or alive who would it be and why?

20.  Turn over your card and on the back write three statements about yourself.  Two of these statements need to be true while one is a lie.  Please try to make all three statements believable so as to hide your lie.  Also make sure and include only statements that you would not mind sharing with the entire class.  Please write legibly on the card so that your answers can be clearly read.

21.  1. Mountain Dew paid for me to go to and graduate from college.  2. I was once involved with a drug bust in Cache Valley.  3. On Halloween I always dress up as a Jedi Knight.
