WELCOME TO THE LIBRARY !

NEED TO KNOW Textbook Care Your Library Records
4
WHO’S RESPONSIBLE? For lost or stolen books For damaged covers and pages For items checked out to each student
5
You Are !
6
IDENTIFICATION Each book has a unique barcode number. At check-out, that barcode number is added to your Library Record. Write your name inside the front cover of each textbook. There’s a special place just for that.
7
COVERS ARE IMPORTANT Brown paper bags work the best. They are free from the grocery store! Write you name on the outside. Don’t tape covers to the book itself.
8
BOOK SOCKS CAN CAUSE PROBLEMS Often bend or break corners and spines. It is difficult to find ones big enough. Be careful of advertising that suggests “jumbo” will fit any book. If the book sock is difficult to put on, the size is probably too small.
9
DON’T PAY FOR WHAT YOU DIDN’T DO September is the month to tell us about any problem with the condition of your textbooks. See any damage notes that may be written inside the front cover. We want to know about problems that are not already noted.
