1. As I stand at the top of the 199 steps that I just have climbed, My eyes wander back. I realise just how many steps there really are.

2. As the fire-spitting sun gleamed down at my feet I noticed how dusty and dirty the steps actually were. They’d been like that for 200 years. I realise that they would never be clean again due to the amount of people who trod on them daily.

3. I can smell the salty sea from the top of the steps, It was spectacular! I realise that the St Mary’s church bell had just struck behind me.

4. Beside me stood the old rusty railings and it was as if they were staring at me! I turned away. Then I realised how beautiful the view is around me.
