3. Outcomes  Mapping of services for young people carried out, shared and published online  New networks made  Barriers to youth employment explored  Gaps in services explored  Agreed to seek support from business sector

Key findings  It was clear that attendees were not aware of the range of services that are being provided by different organisations  Need to encourage and support young people with entrepreneurial skills  Need to recognise the value of volunteering by young people  Need to inform parents & carers of school age children about career choices  Challenge businesses and support businesses to step up and provide opportunities  Need greater access to work experience, apprenticeships, career advice  We should recognise those businesses that do provide opportunities and help young people

5. Bournemouth Young Volunteers  Bournemouth CVS, Bournemouth 2026 Trust & Bournemouth Integrated Youth Service working together  Bournemouth Young Volunteers launched this year  Young people register their volunteering hours  Recognised with certificates  Helps them to stand out from the crowd  The first awards event being held in 2014  Seeking sponsorship for awards event

6. Young People Your Business  Event held at J.P. Morgan in September  Well attended and good feedback  Over 100 commitments made  Helped connect schools with businesses  Invites through local Chambers  Support being offered to businesses to met commitments
