Gorseinon Junior School Implementing Key Skills
2
Vision Statement In our school we value everyone and recognise and celebrate our uniqueness and diverse talents. We strive to prepare our children for life by promoting the skills they will need to become successful citizens in their communities. We nurture our children physically, mentally, socially and spiritually and encourage them to always give of their best academically in order to become life-long learners. We hope that the care and respect we have for each other will reflect in the childrens’ lives and attitudes and be evident to anyone who comes into our school.

Whole School Approach Whole school approach to the development of all the key skills areas. Without such an approach, development might well be inconsistent and partial. A whole school approach should aim to ensure that there is a clear overview of skills development within the school and that all staff share a common understanding of what is involved. Common expectations and a commitment from all staff to incorporate opportunities for skills development in their planning will help to provide consistency across all subjects.
