3. 2011 Question Good News: The question gives you things to consider (i.e. YOU MUST WRITE ABOUT THESE!) Bad news: All 3 AO’s are worth 10 marks!

4. So what are they looking for? Look at the mark scheme In Pairs, Using the mark scheme to help, PLAN what you would write. Try and be as detailed as possible without actually writing the answer

5. Sample answer? Look at sample U Highlight (3 colours with key) each of the AO’s Underline any points you think are particularly impressive.

6. Review What was good? What was bad? Knowledge? Understanding? Evaluation? Structure?

7. What the exam board said SAMPLE U: AO1: answer contain some sound knowledge of some of the relevant events and issues with some reference to the sources. This is very much on the border with need for greater development and detail but enough precise knowledge displayed to just put this into the bottom of level 4 AO2: answer demonstrates sound understanding of issues and events that is relevant to some aspects of the question; there is sufficient development to award this level 4 AO3: answer presents some attempt to evaluate and analyse the sources with a personal response based upon this fairly limited interpretation of the source material.
