Realistic fiction consists of stories that tell about situations occurring in the real world. There can be no magic or fantasy involved in the plot, although there may be very unusual events occurring or even exaggerated characters

What is Realistic Fiction? The events in the story did not truly happen (fiction), but they could happen (realistic). Example- In the book Holes the boy being sent away to a camp to dig holes all day may seem farfetched, however based on the world as we know it this could happen.

What is Realistic Fiction? Realistic fiction is a very broad category of books that is subdivided into many subjects. Adventure, humorous, and books about sensitive topics are examples of the subjects that fit into Realistic Fiction.
