2.  Cigar Lake – Largest undeveloped uranium ore body in the world.  Ground is very unstable and must be frozen prior to ore extraction.  Ore is mined using high pressure water pumped by four 800hp positive displacement pumps.  The mine is currently underwater.

3.  Water temperature exceeds pump operating conditions (T max = 30 o C)  Four high pressure pumps operate continuously throughout mining process in either jetting or standby mode  Max water pressure of 100MPa  When not jetting, water recirculates  Automated process

5.  Evaluate the current system and create an engineering model  Evaluate possible solutions for removing excess heat to remain within operating temperatures  Detailed analysis on final design solution  Deliverables include final drawings, parts list and cost analysis
